Purgatory Resort has begun snowmaking for the 2020-21 season.
A storm that hit the region earlier this week brought a dusting of snow to the resort north of Durango, with the summit receiving a few inches.
The storm also brought cold enough temperatures to allow Purgatory Resort to start making snow.
“We are planning on making snow every night moving forward as long as Mother Nature cooperates and gives us good temperatures,” Sam Williams, senior director of mountain operations, said in a statement.
Purgatory plans to open Nov. 21.
The snowstorm also brought enough snow for Wolf Creek Ski Area to begin a limited opening this week.
