To all of the Colorado citizens who voted Yes on Proposition 113: Thank you for your attempts to disenfranchise the popular vote for the state of Colorado. I know you think you’ve done a great thing. On the contrary, if this popular vote nonsense passes enough other states, we will have well and truly lost our states’ popular vote, which the Electoral College system guarantees. I know it’s easy to follow the crowd in lack of thinking, especially when surrounded by partisan press and other media. There were several who wrote in trying to convince you of the error of your thinking – alas, to no avail. As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for!
One hopes the more conservative states will be able to put the kibosh on this terrible plan. I know you all thought you were being terribly progressive (regressive?) in your actions (the sad joke that is “woke”). In actuality, you have done great harm. I always wonder about persons who think they are as knowledgeable as James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and other Founders. (Oh, excuse me, that’s right – they were terrible, rich, racist old white men).
If this hurts anyone’s feelings, time to grow up, get over it and get informed. Study the Constitution! If anyone should write back in response, it won’t hurt my feelings, as I am not governed by them, not being prone to identity politics.
