What to do about replacing the old bridge on old Highway 145 will be subject of a public meeting to be held at the Town Hall in Dolores at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 13 according to Harold McComb, chairman of the Montezuma County Commissioners, who arranged the meeting to bring the facts regarding the closed bridge to the people and get their ideas on what should be done. The bridge was closed when heavy traffic, age and deterioration caused some of the steel girders to snap and the bridge to sag.
The Dolores Chamber of Commerce along with others in the area asked the Commissioners to consider repairing or replacing the bridge resulting in the meeting. The county has results of an engineering survey of the bridge completed with recommendations that will be presented at the meeting.
All interested from the entire area are invited to attend.
