A truck driver hauling beer escaped with no injuries Thursday morning after rolling over on Wolf Creek Pass on U.S. Highway 160.
A spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol said the crash was reported at 8:15 a.m., near mile marker 160, near the hairpin turn where Wolf Creek Pass descends on the west side, below the popular overlook spot.
The semitrailer from California rolled, spilling a small amount of fuel and oil on the highway.
Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Lisa Schwantes said crews cleared the highway as of Thursday afternoon.
The CSP spokesman said the driver was not injured. The crash is under investigation, so no more details were available Thursday morning.
It appears no beer spilled onto the highway, unlike a similar crash near the same location on Wolf Creek Pass in 2017, when a truck’s brakes went out, causing it to hit the runaway ramp and release 42,100 pounds of beer and energy drinks.
