Ignacio High School shifted into remote lessons Thursday after the district was notified that a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
The school will also hold remote lessons Friday to give its custodial staff members time to clean the building, according to an Ignacio School District announcement Thursday. Students will return to in-person learning Monday, except for those who had direct exposure to the staff member with COVID-19.
“We will continue monitoring our staff and students during this critical time,” the announcement said.
Students exposed to the staff member will be notified by Ignacio High School administration. The group of students will continue with remote learning next week and will return to school Jan. 19.
If students develop any symptoms during that time, the district asked them to stay home and inform the school.
“Safety is our No. 1 goal for everyone involved,” the announcement said. “Please follow the guidelines of washing hands, wearing masks, keeping social distance and if there are symptoms stay home.”
