The Cortez Public Library will open its doors at limited capacity beginning March 22.

The building will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Curbside pickup will remain an option for those who prefer limited contact.

The library closed in November amid a local increase in coronavirus cases.

According to Children’s Librarian Laura McHenry, the library’s capacity will likely be limited to about 30 people.

Patrons are asked to keep their visits as brief as possible. Those that do not have a mask will be provided one when they arrive.

According to a press release, the library cannot accommodate groups. The community meeting room, study rooms and the drinking fountain will remain closed.

The library also asks that visitors allow for six feet of distance when coming into contact with staff or other visitors.

Computers will be available on a first come, first served basis. Use is limited to one session per day per person, unless there is no wait list. Staff will provide alcohol wipes to visitors looking to wipe down any technology before use.

Those with further questions can call 970-565-8117.
