Prospective Fort Lewis College students for the 2021-22 school year can use Common App, an online application platform used by students, counselors and advisers across the country and the world.
Common App is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to access, equity and integrity in college admissions.
As a Common App member, FLC can streamline the application process for students interested in applying to multiple institutions. Also, it provides exposure to FLC for students who might not have been considering the college.
“Typically, Colorado students look at applying to more than one institution in the state and now they can apply to FLC and a dozen other institutions in one easy application,” said Jess Savage, director of Admission. “As one of the most affordable colleges in the state, it’s important for us to provide access to this application option for students who see themselves as future Skyhawks.”
Common App is designed to reduce common barriers to the college application process.
Each year, more than 1 million applicants use the Common App, and about one-third of those applicants are the first in their family to pursue a college degree.
Prospective students can visit FLC’s website at www.fortlewis.edu/apply and also apply there.
Application fees are the same through either process, and financial hardship waivers are available for each application.
By joining Common App, FLC is helping make additional tools and services available to students and those who support students through Common App, including financial aid and scholarship information, virtual mentors, online portfolios and a vast library of counseling resources available in English and Spanish.
Common App also offers around-the-clock technical support to all applicants and educators using the system.
