Fall cleanup coming soon to Mancos

The Town of Mancos will host its Fall Cleanup on Sept. 19 through 21.

This is your chance to help clean up the town. The drop-off location will be at 300 S. Monte at the Mancos Public Works Shop.

The event is free for Mancos residents. Items accepted will be scrap metal, old household items, excluding electronics. Standard-size tires will be accepted for a $3 fee.

Science Fridays will kick off this week

The Mancos Public Library will offer its first Science Friday program on Friday, Sept. 12. Participants will study electricity with several hands-on experiments. There will be two sections of the same program. In the morning the program will run between 10 to 11:30 a.m. and is for kids kindergarten to 2nd grade. In the afternoon, the program will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and is geared for kids ages 3rd through 8th grade. Participation is free.

Tapia plans to speak at meet-and-greet

Abel Tapia, Democratic Candidate for Representative of the 3rd Congressional District will be holding a meet-and-greet at The Spruce Tree Espresso House on Sunday, Sept. 14 from 9-10 a.m.

Abel has served four years as a state representative and eight years as a state senator from Pueblo County.
