The Mancos Town Board took a bit of time discussing this month's business and resident recognition awards Wednesday night, and two rose above the rest.
The Mancos School District was recognized for the school's appearance.
The board thought the school had been working hard to make the school look nice this year.
In addition, Frances and Ruben Maestas were picked.
"Their place always looks nice," a board member said.
The board selected the south side of Grand Avenue, including Grand and from Beech Street to Monte as the area to be recognized this month.
At the first meeting in November, the Mancos Town Board will bring residence and businesses recommendations for the best Halloween decorations in town.
