Raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win the king-size quilt “98 Stars,” one of about 100 quilts on display at the Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild’s biennial show on Aug. 26-27.

The Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild holds its 2016 biennial quilt show, which promises to be an exciting showcase for local quilting artistry, on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26-27.

The show will be held at the Dolores Community Center on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. and on Aug. 27 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

The show will feature more than 100 quilts, which will be judged by the public in six categories. A quilters’ boutique will offer many handmade gifts and treasures, door prizes will be drawn each hour and raffle tickets will be for sale on a stunning king-size quilt “98 Stars.” Several vendors will offer fabric, patterns, notions and sewing machines. Tickets are available at the door at $3 per person for 16 years and older.

Additional entry information is available on the website, doloresmountainquilters.org.

The Dolores Mountain Quilters Guild’s monthly gatherings focus on members’ quilting creativity, continuing quilting education for members and the community, support in the form of donated quilts to those in need, show-stopper quilting creations offered to local non-profits for fundraising and annual cash contributions in appreciation of local service organizations.

Visitors and nonmembers are always welcome to attend the guild’s monthly meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month, 10 a.m. at the Dolores Community Center. More information is available at doloresmountainquilters.org.
