For The Mancos Times
The Mancos Public Library presents Outdoor Adventures at the Mancos Public Library, an after-school program.
This program has been developed by a team of educators, biologists, artists, outdoor recreation specialists, and librarians who believe kids need an opportunity to explore, build, hike, create and work together in a kid centered community in the outdoors.
Although supervised by adults, the activities will be derived by the interests and passions of the kids. Children ages 9-12 are encouraged to enroll. Each child must be able to walk/hike 2 miles over mildly rough terrain in all weather.
A healthy snack will be provided. The cost is $20 for the entire length of the program and scholarships are available.
This program will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:30 p.m. and will follow the Mancos school district calendar. The first session will be on Thursday, Oct. 3. Enrollment is limited, so please sign up early.
