Montezuma County Farm Service Agency is accepting applications for 2015 non-insured Assistance Program coverage for non-insurable perennial crops. The sales closing date for alfalfa (forage & seed), grass (forage, seed, grazing), honey (table), mixed forage (two or more varieties/forage, grazing) and Native Grass (grazing) is Dec. 1, 2014.
Producers will pay a non-refundable coverage fee of $250 per crop per administrative county, $750 per producer per administrative county or not more than a total of $2,250 per producer for all counties. Payment for coverage and signature requirements must be received by the sales closing date. Late applications for coverage will not be accepted. Producers may visit the office at 628 West Fifth St., Cortez to apply for coverage. Questions may be addressed by also call the Montezuma County Farm Service Agency office at 970-565-8879.
