Registered electors in the Dolores School District Re-4A will go to the polls next Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the art room in the old elementary building to vote on the issue of a budget raise, most of which will go to a 22 percent increase in teacher and staff salaries during 1975.

Petitions are now being circulated for formation of a hospital district in Montezuma County, and they are being signed up rather well according to Ron Nielson, hospital administrator, who said about 30 persons are working on the project. A total of 1,100 or more names are being sought. Signers are required to be ad valorem taxpayers and registered voters in the county to be eligible.

The annual Christmas Lighting Contest sponsored by the Dolores River Garden Club was outlined this week by contest chairman, Mrs. Martha Gustin.

Senator-elect Gary Hart will be honored at a luncheon to be held at the Pony Express at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, according to county chairman John Porter. Hart is touring the state to learn more about problems of the areas.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bowden drove to Salt Lake City last Friday to visit with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bowden, and get acquainted with their new granddaughter. They returned home on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carrigan went to Farmington Sunday, returning home through Durango.

Elaine Carrigan, Debra Vavra, Connie Paxton, Brenda Johnson, Greg Englehart and Don Setser left Friday morning for Boulder, where they represented the Honor Society and the Student Council at a state meeting. They returned home in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Bradley Stephens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stephens, spent several hours in Southwest Memorial Hospital on Monday having some dental work done.

Newell Musgrave, former resident of Dolores, visited with friends last Tuesday en route from Sun City, Ariz. to Hotchkiss. Newell and wife, Laverne are in the process of moving to Sun City for the winter.

Mr. and Mrs. Hall Terry visited with Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Lee on Monday. The Terrys are moving from Dove Creek to Tsegi, Ariz. for the winter, where Mr. Terry is employed by a trucking firm.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Steel and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Nunn were among those enjoying the turkey games at the Elks Club last Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy LaFrance were among those playing in the turkey games at the Elks lodge late Saturday evening. Tommmy was the only one to win a turkey.
