Kicking off its season at the Pat Kenny Invitational in Holbrook, Ariz., the Mancos High School wrestling team enjoyed mixed results.
Leading the Bluejays was 120-pound senior Rudy Archuleta, who, won four of his nine matches and finished third overall.
The matches were Archuleta's first since last year's state tournament.
Also placing for the Bluejays was 152-pound junior Andrew Morgan, who won six of his 10 matches and finished fifth overall. Rounding out the Mancos placers was 106-pound freshman Riley Burton, who finished sixth.
170-pound sophomore Austin Howerton finished 5-5, but did not place.
"We started a little slow," said Mancos head coach Grant Hobbs. "The second day was very impressive compared to the first day. Overall, throughout the whole tournament, we did really well."
Next up for the Bluejays will be the Dawg Fight Tournament, which will take place in Dove Creek on Dec. 13. Mancos will be one of 14 schools competing in the tournament.
"We need to improve on every aspect of the game," said Hobbs. "We're a little behind, but we're catching up."
