One of the most interesting sessions of the Montezuma & Dolores Counties (Montelores) Chamber of Commerce in more than a year was held her last Monday night. The meeting was held at Tucker's Koffee Kup, where a splendid and tasty dinner was served. President R. E. Walker presided, with George Berg acting as secretary. W. V. Olin and Sam Phelgar gave a report of their recent exploits while on a visit to Denver. Mr. Olin placed a great deal of emphasis on the fact that Phlegar has been elected president of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce. There was a lot of talk about an advertising booklet which Mr. Olin is getting out for the chamber of commerce. Somebody mentioned roads for this section and touched off a bombshell which everyone knew would be exploded. Messrs. Phlegar and Olin had reported that Governor Johnson had said that highway No. 160 would be build according to the wishes of Cortez people, that is northerly from the limits of that town, but that he (the governor) would see that all other roads, including the forest service highway between here and Rico, would be completed at one if his $30,000,000 appropriation for roads is allowed.
