A semitrailer rollover just north of the New Mexico border closed traffic lanes on U.S. Highway 491 late Monday night, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said Tuesday.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m. at mile marker 2 on the highway, Lewis said. The semi had rolled over and was blocking both lanes of traffic, as well as the shoulder on the southbound side. Lanes remained closed until the highway was fully reopened about 1 a.m., he said.
The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old man from North Carolina, was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries, Lewis said.
No drugs or alcohol was involved in the rollover, but Lewis was not sure whether the crash was weather-related.
Montezuma County was under a winter storm warning until 6 a.m. Tuesday, as a snowstorm moved into the area and deposited up to 3 inches of snow in parts of the county.
