The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and the Bureau of Land Management’s Anasazi Heritage Center invite the public to a reception and exhibition opening on Friday, Feb. 20.

Outdoor Museum on the Ground at Lowry Pueblo is a collaborative field day offered by the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and the Bureau of Land Management’s Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and Anasazi Heritage Center. Now in its second year, the program has reached over 400 participants. Students learn about ancestral Pueblo culture, landscape archaeology and the local environment, as well as the concepts of stewardship and archaeological preservation. Outdoor Museum on the Ground culminates with an exhibit at the Anasazi Heritage Center featuring students’ interpretive posters about their experiences.

The opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Feb. 20, at the Anasazi Heritage Center, 27501 Highway 184, Dolores. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. The exhibit will continue through the spring.
