Bruce Chilcott uses a giant club as he putts in the Coldwell Banker Realty office during the golf tournament at the Mancos Melt Saturday.

The Mancos Melt Golf Tournament took 64 golfers through 17 Mancos businesses, all in competition for the coveted grand prize: a trip for four to Durango's exclusive Glacier Club Golf Course.

After putting their way around town, the winners turned out to be a husband-and-wife team: Rob and Jennifer Kirks.

"Some were hard, and some were easy," Rob Kirks said of the tournament.

Kirks said he had four holes in one during the tournament, and Jennifer had a few as well, giving them the winning score of 113.

"It was fun just to play and see everybody," Rob Kirks said.

For the Kirks, the hardest hole was the one at Coldwell Bankers.

"There were people inside, and you had to put through their legs," Kirks said.

Most other golfers said the P&D Grocery hole was the hardest.

"A lot of people took 10s on ours," Kirs said.

First-place winners won a pass for four to the Glacier Club, valued at $700.

Second-place winners won a pass for four to the Conquistador Golf Course in Cortez. Third-place winners won a pass for two to the Hillcrest.
