Veterinarian Stacee Santi at Riverside Animal Hospital comforts Tiffin, a 4-year-old Schnauzer-Yorkie who was suffering from marijuana poisoning. Tiffin ingested marijuana residue from an improvised pot pipe made from an apple.

Tiffin, the Schnauzer-Yorkie mix who was sickened after eating a marijuana apple pipe on Friday, is well on the road to recovery.

The dog was treated and released from Riverview Animal Hospital later Friday, said Jessica Krafthefer, a technician.

“She pulled through,” Krafthefer said.

Owner Lani Dill took 4-year-old Tiffin to Riverview on Friday morning when the pup returned from the backyard with poor balance and a strange look on her face. Dill found two apple halves in the backyard, with holes poked in them and marijuana residue apparent.

Dill could not be reached for comment Monday.

Eating marijuana can be fatal for dogs. Tiffin weighs only 10 pounds.

Tiffin was treated with supportive care, including intravenous fluids, until she improved.
