Don't miss the Spring Showcase
Dolores Secondary Schools are hosting a Spring Student Showcase on May 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. The community is invited to come celebrate our students and their work. Students and staff will be giving presentations on a wide range of topics. Come and see displays of student learning. This would also be a great opportunity to walk through our new buildings. We will cap off the evening with our Spring Band and Choir Concert, beginning at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the intermission between the Showcase and the Concert. Information: 882-7288.
Principal search narrows
After a long and successful round of interviews last Monday for the Secondary (grades 7-12) Principal position, the hiring committee selected two finalists to invite back to Dolores. Each finalist will spend an afternoon with Dolores School District Superintendent Scott Cooper touring the schools, conducting observations, providing teachers with instructional feedback and ending in the library with a snack and chat and Q & A.
The public is invited to meet the finalists between 3:35 and 5 p.m. on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5, please stop by the school library to meet the finalists and ask a question. Remember, each finalist will only be here on one of those dates. If you want to meet both finalists, plan on attending both snack 'n chats.
A final decision will be made by Friday, May 8.
A big Thank You to the interview team who dedicated nearly 12 hours on Monday to this important work.
The finalists are Charles "Chuck" Tracy, who will visit on Monday and Jenifer Hufman, who will visit with on Tuesday.
New librarian
Lisa Vaughn, who currently teaches Language Arts at the Dolores High School, interviewed for the librarian position and was selected to be the schools' librarian.
Now the district will begin advertising for a Language Arts Teacher.
