For The Dolores Star

K-9 Search and Rescue Team Inc. was recently called to assist the New Mexico State Police in searching for a missing person near Hopewell Lake in New Mexico. The search lasted six days, during which time there was rain, snow, thunderstorms, wind and very low temperatures. The weather conditions became too severe to safely continue the search, and efforts have been suspended at this time.

K-9 received an outpouring of support for this mission from the community, for which we are extremely grateful. While six team members and dogs responded to the mission, many more team, family, and community members helped to make that response possible.

K-9 Search and Rescue Team has been providing services for 31 years and is based in Dolores, Colo. The team is composed entirely of volunteers and could use your help. K9 holds an annual pancake breakfast fundraiser to support the team on Saturday, August 8. Come by before the Escalate Days parade to support the team, get some great food, and meet the most important members of the team - the dogs.
