3:42 a.m. Police responded to the Sleeping Ute Apartments for a possible break in to find a woman that reported her window was broken. The damage was estimated at $75. No witnesses saw the incident, and the case was closed.
12:16 p.m. Police arrested a woman at her job on an outstanding warrant.
11:02 p.m. Police conducted a welfare check on a mother and daughter standing near the Four Corners Community Bank. The mother was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and the daughter left the scene with a family member.
Monday, May 18
2:07 p.m. Police responded to an assault call at the Cortez Public Library. Several males were questioned, and one man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
2:46 p.m. Two male subjects were found drinking vodka near the Colorado Welcome Center. Both men were issued citations for possession of alcohol in a park and open container after police poured out the remaining alcohol.
8:27 p.m. Police responded to a possibly shoplifting call at Safeway. Video surveillance confirmed that an 18-pack of Budweiser valued at $21.99 was stolen. One man was arrested in connection to the incident, and another was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Tuesday, May 19
7:10 a.m. Police responded to East Third Street for the theft of a 1996 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, a fanny pack that contained $160 in cash. The vehicle was later recovered after it rolled over on County Road G. The investigation continues.
12:20 p.m. A woman was issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and displaying a fake tag following a traffic stop. The vehicle was towed.
5:57 p.m. Police responded to a trespass call at Oak Meadows Trailer Park, but the suspect had fled the scene.
7:52 p.m. Police responded to a harassment call at the Rust Trailer Park to find one that two men had punched one another in the face. One subject was arrested for violating a protection order. He had a blood alcohol content of .196.
Wednesday, May 20
3:18 a.m. Police found a man sleeping on the sidewalk along the 1200 block of Main Street. The suspect was taken to the hospital for a medical clearance before transported to the jail for violating bond conditions, which prohibited the consumption of alcohol.
8:27 a.m. A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man with an outstanding warrant from Dover, Del., for failing to register as a convicted sex offender. Records show the suspect was released from the Montezuma County jail the same day after the case was dismissed.
7:29 p.m. After responding to a possible suicidal subject, police arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant and for violating a protection order. Her blood alcohol content measured .284. During booking, the woman became uncooperative, and police had to administer multiple jugular and clavicle notch pressure points as well as a mandibular angle pressure point.
