Cortez FFA member Tierney Wilson was among 10 FFA members from across Colorado were announced as state officers on Thursday, June 4, at the 87th annual State FFA Convention in Pueblo.
These students will spend the next year traveling over 20,000 miles across the state representing Colorado agricultural education as well as the agricultural industry. The ten member officer team will conduct the business of the Colorado FFA Association, perform leadership workshops for high school FFA members, promote the agricultural industry at the Colorado State Fair and National Western Stock Show. They will also represent Colorado at the 88th National FFA Convention in October in Louisville, Ky., and have the opportunity to study agriculture abroad as a team.

Wilson most recently served as president of the Cortez FFA Chapter and District III FFA district. She graduated in the top 20 of her class from Montezuma-Cortez High School. Wilson will defer a year from Brigham Young University-Idaho to fulfill her duties as a state executive committee member. After her year of service, she will return to college where she plans on majoring in either agribusiness or horticulture. Tierney’s parents are Brian and Kaylyn Wilson of Pleasant View. Her FFA advisor is Amanda Ramos.
“I Am” was this year’s convention theme. More than 1,800 FFA members, advisors, supporters and guests attended the convention at Colorado State University in Pueblo, representing 90 FFA chapters across the state on June 2-4, 2015.
