Tuesday, June 30

7 a.m. Empire Electric officials reported a residential electrical box on the 14000 block of County Road 27 had been repeatedly tampered with after power had been disconnected for non-payment.

10:20 a.m. A billboard at the intersection of County Road T and Colorado 145 was reported vandalized, with spray-painted male sexual organs and the word “DBoy.” Damage was estimated at $400.

8:12 p.m. Deputies responded to a hit-and-run at the Lakeside Trailer Park after a SUV drove through a fence. Total damages were estimated at $60. An eyewitness identified the driver via Facebook.

Wednesday, July 1

8:20 a.m. A resident on the 24000 block of County Road P reported a vandalized mailbox. Damages totaled $50. A similar incident was also reported by the home owner in June.

7:30 p.m. A woman reported that a protection order was violated after she received a Facebook message to collect her belongings. No charges were filed.

9:30 a.m. A woman on the 14000 block of County Road 27 reported a missing horse, a 3-year-old Leopard Appaloosa.

10:12 p.m. A deputy responded to a call of assault at Vista Verde trailer park. According to the deputy, it happened like this: The caller stated that her roommate’s 26-year-old boyfriend had been drinking and playing rough with his girlfriend. When his girlfriend demanded that he stop, he threw a drink at her. He refused to leave the residence and then punched the fourth roommate, a 22-year-old man, in the face. As sirens approached, the boyfriend jumped a fence and ran. The deputy patrolled the neighborhood, but did not find the assailant.

Thursday, July 2

9:47 p.m. A man was reportedly bitten in the face after he harassed a dog.

Friday, July 3

7:15 a.m. A Colorado man was ticketed for speeding, traveling 80 mph in a 55 zone, and driving with a suspended license on the 6000 block of U.S. 160.

8:35 a.m. A Colorado man was ticketed for speeding, traveling 72 mph in 55 zone, and driving with a suspended license on the 26000 block of Colorado 184.

9:05 a.m. An Arizona man was given a verbal warning for driving an off-highway vehicle on Colorado 145 near Colorado 184.

Saturday, July 4

6:16 a.m. A structure fire involving an unoccupied fifth-wheel trailer was reported on the 1700 block of E. Seventh Street. Officials noted a transient might have accidentally set the fire. Valued at an estimated $3,000, the structure was a total loss.

9:19 a.m. Deputies responded to an intoxicated man walking in traffic on the 26000 block of County Road L. The man was arrested for violating no alcohol court order. He had a blood alcohol level of .291 on the roadside and .331 at the jail.

12:36 p.m. A Colorado man was ticketed for speeding, traveling 79 mph in a 65 zone, and no proof of insurance on the 30000 block of U.S. 160.

2:25 p.m. A Colorado woman was stopped for speeding, traveling 67 mph in a 65 zone, on the 5000 block of U.S. 160. Instead, the deputy ticketed the woman for driving with a suspended license, no insurance, defective tail light and following too closely.

Sunday, July 5

1:13 p.m. A man was given a verbal warning for recklessly driving an ATV in the former M&M Truck Stop parking lot. A deputy noted the driver caught three feet of air while jumping a dirt embankment.

Tuesday, July 7

8:21 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance in progress on the 13000 block of County Road 25 to find a woman had been hit in the chest with a beer bottle. A man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, assault, DUI, obstruction, harassment and domestic violence.

10:39 p.m. A Colorado man was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and defective brake light on the 24000 block of County Road G.

Wednesday, July 8

12:33 a.m. A woman was stopped for a traffic violation on the 24000 block of County Road G. The driver and an underage passenger were issued written warnings for marijuana possession. An unknown amount of marijuana was seized.
