Thursday, July 2

12:09 a.m. A Pizza Hut employee reported that his locked bicycle valued at $100 was stolen while he was at work. The bike was recovered about three hours later when police saw a man pushing it on the 10 block of S. Mildred Road. The man said he had purchased the bike for $15. He was ticketed for theft.

2:44 p.m. Police responded to the Cork & Bottle about an intoxicated and belligerent customer. Police contacted and warned the suspect. About 15 minutes later, police were called in reference to the same man on S. Market Street. He was arrested as an intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway.

7:21 p.m. While on bicycle patrol at Montezuma Avenue and Mildred Road, a known man was spotted driving with a suspended license. The officer followed him to Long’s Trailer Park. A patrol unit was called to transfer him to jail.

10:38 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on the 600 block of N. Elm Street for a disturbance. A woman said her husband hit her twice. A warrant for domestic violence was requested.

Friday, July 3

4 p.m. Police responded to a residence on the 400 block of E. Third Street for a break-in. Jewelry valued at $2,500, a guitar valued at $200, a Navajo rug valued at $1,000, five hydraulic pumps valued at $4,000, a welder valued at $3,500 and copper wire valued at $1,000 were reported missing. Forced entry into the front door was suspected.

7:01 p.m. A man was arrested in Centennial Park on an outstanding warrant.

7:18 p.m. Police responded to City Market after an intoxicated man threw a cup of water and hurled racial slurs at an employee. The man was arrested for disturbing the peace.

10:25 p.m. A man was arrested on the 10 block of W. Main Street for violating a no-alcohol order.

Saturday, July 4

12:29 a.m. Police responded to Happy Valley Trailer Park about a physical altercation between two women. Both women fled, suffered minor injuries, and were arrested on assault and domestic violence charges.

1:46 a.m. Police responded to Happy Valley Trailer Park in reference to a hit and run. While on the scene, police learned of a possible assault. A woman suffered a knot above her right eye and a bite mark on her left hand. A man was arrested and charged with assault and domestic violence.

2:15 a.m. Police approached an unoccupied vehicle with the trunk open at a business on the 1600 block of South Broadway. While questioning the driver, two beer bottles were thrown at officers. A man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and obstruction.

3:14 a.m. Police responded to Walmart in reference to a man with a knife. Store officials said they found the man, wearing a Walmart vest but not an employee, behind the electronics counter. The suspect fled the scene, and a chase ensued. The man wasn’t apprehended, but a warrant for menacing and obstruction was issued.

3:59 p.m. Police responded to City Market about a shoplifting incident after a woman attempted to leave with a cart of merchandise valued at $253. She was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

10:25 p.m. Police responded to the 200 block of N. Sligo for a possible assault after a woman claimed that she was shoved off a porch and punched repeatedly. The woman was arrested for underage drinking.

11:34 p.m. Police spotted a woman pulling flowers at the intersection of Main and Ash streets. The woman claimed she was searching for a lost hat. She was ticketed for destroying city property.

Sunday, July 5

12:21 a.m. Police found a woman sleeping under a bush at the Dolores State Bank. She was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

12:48 a.m. Police spotted a man and woman walk into traffic on the 700 block of E. Main Street. Taken into custody, the woman reportedly head-butted an officer in the chest and kicked another in his chest. She was charged with intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway and resisting arrest.

12:19 p.m. Police responded to a residence on the 1700 block of S. Broadway for a theft complaint. A man reported his wallet with $1,164 in cash was stolen while he was in jail the previous day. The man claimed that he was unable to lock his doors when he was arrested. Police discovered that the man’s credit cards were used at Wal,art and Big R while he was in custody. Charges totaled $707.

2:26 p.m. Police responded to the skate park after receiving a call that a male was mistreating kids. A man was arrested for violating a protection order.

Monday, July 6

12:21 p.m. Police responded to City Market for an accident after a bicyclist was hit by a vehicle. The cyclist suffered a bruised wrist. The driver was ticketed for unsafe backing and lack of insurance.

Tuesday, July 7

9:20 a.m. Police responded to the 1500 block of Mesa Verde Street for a report of vandalism after a van window was shattered.

9:36 a.m. Police responded to a residence on the 300 block of S. Harrison Street for a report of damaged property after the back glass of an automobile was shattered. Damages were estimated at $300. Surveillance photos were possible.

9:03 p.m. Police responded to the Oak Meadows Trailer Park after receiving a call that a man had pulled a gun. A juvenile was issued a promise to appear and placed on home detention after he was found in possession of two pellet guns.

Wednesday, July 8

10:25 a.m. Police responded to the Ute Coffee Shop for a theft incident after a passenger window was broken out of a semi-truck. A wallet was reported missing.

7:35 p.m. An employee at Cork & Bottle reported a drunken driver. Police followed the vehicle into the Walmart parking lot. A man was arrested and charged with DUI and failing to signal.

Thursday, July 9

9:21 a.m. Police responded to Manaugh Elementary after receiving a call that juveniles were on the property. Police discovered a broken window. A juvenile was issued a promise to appear and released to a guardian. Total damages were estimated at $75.

1:39 p.m. Police responded to the Happy Valley Trailer Park for a possible disturbance. A man reportedly threw French fries at his girlfriend after the couple argued about a television program. The man was arrested for assault and domestic violence.

5:14 p.m. A woman reported that she was being harassed after a child custody agreement. The case was turned over to the district attorney’s office for further investigation after both parties admitted to violating restraining orders.

9:25 p.m. A man was stopped on the 200 block of N. Harrison Street after walking into traffic. In possession of alcohol, the man was arrested for violating bond conditions.

10:09 p.m. Police responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting incident after a woman and a juvenile bagged $1,011 of items into a cart and attempted to exit without paying. The woman was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal impersonation, theft and obstruction. The juvenile was released to his mother with a promise to appear on a theft charge.

Friday, July 10

11:25 a.m. Police responded to the 1200 block of Cottonwood Street for a possible burglary. Three watches; three rings; two knives; $100 in change; a safe containing passports, camcorder and $100 in cash; a computer tablet; prescription pills; and a motorcycle were reported missing. The homeowner told police that he suspected his son was responsible. The son denied the allegations.

4:16 p.m. Police responded to City Park for a possible stabbing. A knife was recovered, and a man was arrested for disturbing the peace.

8:07 p.m. A woman reported that a former roommate refused to return a laptop computer. Police discovered the computer was sold for $100. The computer was returned to the rightful owner. The former roommate was ticketed for theft.

8:35 p.m. Police spotted a couple having sex on a bench along the 800 block of E. Montezuma Avenue. A man was arrested for alcohol possession in the park.
