Regan Umberger, a graduate of Dolores High School and a photography student at Colorado Mountain College, spent much of her summer break as the face behind the camera, shooting photos for The Cortez Journal, Dolores Star and Mancos Times. It was a busy summer that included a wide variety of assignments, including the Montezuma County Fair, the Mancos High School graduation and even Faces in the Crowd. "I learned a lot about how a newsroom works and what it's like in the real world," Umberger said. "Sam (Green) taught me how to get right in there and take photos of people that are accurate representations of what was going on in the moment. Being away and then getting to come back with a different perspective and meet so many new people, I learned a lot about the community. I am very excited to head back to school."
