Sarah Tescher, a former professional mountain biker and a co-founder of Durango Devo, gives readers of National Geographic Traveler’s article “America’s 10 Best Mountain Bike Towns” some tips for enjoying Durango, which made the list.

Name a list that has something to do with the best offering of outdoor pursuits, and Durango has a good chance of being on it. This time, it’s National Geographic Traveler with “America’s 10 Best Mountain Bike Towns.

“Iconic trails are one thing,” author Tess Weaver Strokes said in the article, “a great cycling community is quite another. These 10 mountain bike hamlets around the country offer bucket-list rides, new trail development, a variety of outdoor recreation, and a fun, bike-friendly vibe – with excellent coffee and (India pale ale).”

Durango resident and former professional mountain biker Sarah Tescher, featured in the photograph, takes readers on a tour of her favorite ride, favorite eats and favorite after-bike drink.

The towns aren’t ranked in any particular order. Joining Durango on the list are Crested Butte; Moab and Park City, Utah; Sun Valley, Idaho; East Burke, Vermont; Harrisonburg, Virginia; Bend, Oregon; Downieville, California; and Brevard, North Carolina.
