The Dove Creek Bulldogs put up 56 points in their win against Sierra Grande on Friday, and three of their scores were from interceptions and punt returns.
Senior Ricky Adams and sophomore Tristen Martinez each returned interceptions for touchdowns, and Case Baughman took a punt return back for a score to go along with his two rushing touchdowns.
Scott Gatlin and Jordan Ernst each had rushing scores as well to bring the Bulldogs’ touchdown total to seven.
The Bulldogs’ defense was led by Spencer and Scott Gatlin. Scott had a team high eight total tackles, and Spencer had six total tackles including three sacks.
Dove Creek has outscored opponents 162-28 in its last three games, but the Bulldogs will have a tough task on Friday when they host a Hoehne team that averages over 39 points per game.
