Sunday, Sept. 20

4:44 p.m. A man was ticketed for shoplifting after attempting to steal ear buds and a phone charger valued at $30 from Wal-Mart.

Monday, Sept. 21

1:33 p.m. The owner of Cortez Family Acupuncture reported a broken natural gas line. Damages were estimated at $500.

4:09 p.m. A woman reported that she was assaulted by her ex-husband at a residence on the 700 block of North Market Street. The woman said she was hit in the face. He was arrested and charged for assault, domestic violence and violating a protection order.

6:48 p.m. Police responded to a residence on the 600 block of Alameda Drive for dispute. A resident reportedly invited a man he met online into the home for sex. Police were called after the man refused to leave. He was arrested and charged with trespassing.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

7:26 a.m. Police responded to Plaza Laundry for a burglary. A cash register was found in a nearby ditch and both a phone card and vending machine were breached. Total damages were estimated at $10,000.

10:49 a.m. A man was arrested in City Park for violating bond conditions.

12:19 p.m. Police responded to City Market for a panhandler. Warned to leave the scene, the suspect was arrested hours later for trespassing.

12:22 p.m. A man reported that a handgun was stolen from his unlocked vehicle a month prior while in Albuquerque.

5:52 p.m. Police responded to Slaven’s Hardware for shoplifting. A man reportedly fled with a roll of shop towels valued at $2.

7:08 p.m. Police responded to City Park for a disturbance. Two men were arrested. One was charged with open container and underage consumption. The other was charged with open container and possession of alcohol.

10:28 p.m. A man was ticketed for possession of alcohol at City Park.

Wednesday, Sept. 23

1:45 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with shoplifting after attempting to steal beer and cheese valued at $24 from City Market. After being detained in handcuffs, the suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot. He was apprehended in the parking lot and also charged with resisting arrest.

3:05 p.m. A woman was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and interfering with an officer after police responded to a fight in Centennial Park.

6:33 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with two counts of violating a protection order and drunk in public after yelling at traffic near Antonio’s.

9:09 p.m. Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 600 block of South Market Street. A husband and wife reportedly were involved with a verbal confrontation. The woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant and also charged with DUI after she left the scene.

Thursday, Sept. 24

2:10 p.m. A woman was ticketed for open container and alcohol possession in City Park.

7:02 p.m. A man was ticketed for alcohol possession in City Park.

11:25 p.m. Police responded to a disturbance on the 1200 block of North Mildred Road. A man reported that his sister and her boyfriend beat him. He suffered multiple cuts to his face. The woman was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence.

Friday, Sept. 25

10:44 a.m. San Miguel County authorities notified local officials after a man admitted to stealing a pair of boots valued at $195 from Big R. An arrest warrant for shoplifting was requested.

2:10 p.m. A Kentucky Fried Chicken employee reported the theft of a petty cash check.

10:08 p.m. A man was ticketed for littering and alcohol possession in City Park.

Saturday, Sept. 26

2:04 a.m. A man was arrested at Angel’s End Zone on an outstanding warrant.

11:59 a.m. A man reported a mountain bike valued at $250 was stolen from his garage on the 500 block of West 7th Street.

6:31 p.m. Police responded to a dog bite at Southwest Memorial Hospital. A woman reported that she was bit above her ankle in an alley near South Elm Street.

11:28 p.m. Police responded to a disturbance at the Colorado West Trailer Park. A woman reported that her husband’s ex-wife was yelling and banging on her front door. The ex-wife was later apprehended near the Duck Pond, where she was arrested on two outstanding warrants and charged with disturbing the peace.

Sunday, Sept. 27

8:05 a.m. A man reported that both the driver’s side and crew cab windows on his vehicle were broken. Damages were estimated at $200.

10:43 a.m. A motorist was observed speeding, 45 in a 25 mph zone, near North Ash and East Main streets. A man was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license and speeding.

2:34 p.m. Police responded to a fight in progress at the Giant Gas Station on East Main Street. Surveillance footage revealed that a man was repeatedly punched in the face and hit in the head with a cane while lying on the ground. Arrest warrants were issued for a father and son. The alleged victim suffered a head injury that required medical attention.

5:28 p.m. A Wendy’s employee reported a drunken driver. Police found the driver asleep at the wheel in front of a residence on the 600 block of South Washington Street. He was arrested and charged with DUI and violating two protection orders.

Monday, Sept. 28

1:45 p.m. A man was arrested on three outstanding warrants near the intersection of Park Street and Montezuma Avenue.

Tuesday, Sept. 29

9:14 a.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant along the 100 block of West 3rd Street.

2:01 p.m. A U.S. Postal employee reported that three package lockers were pried open and unknown contents stolen.

8:09 p.m. A woman reported that a lawn mower valued at $300 was stolen from her carport on the 300 block of North Linden Street.

Wednesday, Sept. 30

6:28 a.m. A man reported that two skateboards and an iPod valued at $310 were stolen from his unlocked vehicle on the 800 block of South Market Street.

7:58 a.m. A woman reported that a .40 caliber handgun valued at $700 was stolen from her unlocked vehicle on the 400 block of South Valley Road.
