The Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce is in the beginning stages of a buy local campaign. The steering committee consists of Dian Law, Tami Graham, Denise Rentz, Marianne Griffin and Harry Hill.
In their regular board meeting the Mancos board of trustees OK’d the use of $30,000 to be used for a pedestrian bridge located on Mesa Street behind the library.
The Mancos Public Library and the Absolute Bakery and Café will present open mic night on Thursday at the bakery beginning at 7 p.m.
The Mancos Town Board meets the second and fourth Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Mancos Town Hall.
The Mancos RE-6 School District board meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the band room of the middle school.
The Mancos library district board meets the last Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. at the library.
The Mancos tree board has been instrumental in getting Mancos declared a Tree City, USA, by planting trees in town and celebrating Arbor Day.
Funeral services for lifelong Mancos resident Harry Halls will be held on Saturday at the Mancos Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Harry was born in 1915 and passed away at his residence at the age of 95. He married Marjorie Decker in 1940. He is survived by his children Fred, Susanne, Keith, Sydney and Diane.
The Mancos Public Library is offering a class on how to make squash books. They are little books that make wonderful cards. Library employee Kathy Graf will teach that class.
Mac Neeley and Holly Cruser are hosting a delicious event with teas and savory treats on Saturday at the Methodist Fellowship Hall. The event is a fund raiser for the Mancos Valley Arts Council.
