8:27 a.m. A motorist was stopped for driving on a suspended license due to non-payment of child support along the 600 block of E. Third Street. A glass pipe and 4.5 grams of meth were seized, and the woman was arrested and charged with drug possession, lack of insurance and suspended license. Authorities reportedly lost the meth pipe lost while transporting the woman to jail.
2:28 p.m. Two men were arrested and charged with assault after police responded to a fight at City Park. After spitting on a jailor’s leg and refusing to obey commands, one man was Tased three times inside a holding cell at the Montezuma County jail.
6:57 p.m. A woman was arrested and charged with harassment, domestic violence, lack of insurance and careless driving after she assaulted her husband at City Park.
Thursday, Oct. 8
10:04 a.m. A pedestrian was arrested on an outstanding warrant while walking on East Montezuma Avenue near North Park Street.
10:18 a.m. Two men were ticketed for open container and alcohol possession at City Park.
11:53 a.m. A woman reported that an oxygen machine valued at $1,000 was stolen from her vehicle at Front Row Seat 10 days earlier.
2:55 p.m. A man was ticketed for open container and alcohol possession at City Park.
6:09 p.m. A man reported that his vehicle was vandalized and $275 in cash was stolen after someone pried open the passenger door. Damages were estimated at $1,000. To avoid repossession, the man reportedly parked it at a relative’s home on the 1100 block of Jackson Street.
8:44 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after he reportedly threw food inside Wendy’s. He was also charged with drug possession after police found prescription medication in his pocket.
Friday, Oct. 9
2:02 p.m. A man was ticketed for abusing toxic vapors after police responded to the alley behind Main Street Brewing for a man huffing Amazing Goop. Less than an hour later, the man was arrested and charged with abusing toxic vapors after police found the man huffing Amazing Goop at the Pocket Park on South Market Street.
7:32 p.m. A man was arrested for violating a protection order after falling asleep on his mom’s couch.
9:01 p.m. A man was ticketed for open container after passing out outside Once Upon a Sandwich.
Saturday, Oct. 10
9:29 a.m. A woman at Southwest Walk-in Clinic reported a front door was vandalized. Photo surveillance captured an older model Chevrolet S-10 enter and leave he parking lot.
10:45 a.m. Two men were ticketed for open container and alcohol possession at City Park.
1:17 p.m. Police responded to the hospital after a child was bit in the lip by a friend’s dog at the Oak Meadows Mobile Home Park. The dog’s owner was issued a home confinement agreement.
3:15 p.m. A man reported that his father stole multiple tools, jack stands, trailer stabilizers, water hoses and an electrical cord from a camper. The suspect denied the allegations. The alleged victim was informed to file a civil claim.
7:50 p.m. A motorist was stopped for driving without a headlight on the 100 block of W. Main Street. A K-9 unit responded after an unsealed bag of marijuana was observed spilling onto the floorboard. A glass pipe, pill crusher, 1 gram of meth and five forearms – one reported stolen – were seized. A woman was arrested and charged with drug possession, theft, suspended license, drug paraphernalia, lack of insurance and broken head light.
Sunday, Oct. 11
10:48 a.m. A man was ticketed for open container and alcohol possession at City Park.
10:56 p.m. A woman was arrested for violating bail conditions after police responded to the Sleeping Ute Apartments for a welfare check.
Monday, Oct. 12
9:39 p.m. Police responded to an open 911 call at Sleeping Ute Apartments. A woman was arrested and charged with violating a protection order and bail bond conditions.
Tuesday, Oct. 13
2:01 a.m. Police responded to a disturbance at Rust Trailer Park. A woman reported that she pepper-sprayed a man in the face after he threw her onto a bed and placed his forearm against her throat. Pinion nuts reportedly covered the floor of the home from the kitchen to the bedroom. The man was admitted into the hospital after overdosing on prescription medication.
1:52 p.m. A woman reported a bicycle and blanket were stolen from a Main Storage unit.
5:07 p.m. A motorist was stopped for running a stop sign at the intersection of North Harrison Street and East Montezuma Avenue. A woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and police agreed to transport the woman’s groceries to her home.
10:16 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with violating a protection order after police observed a group of people yelling and using profanity at City Park.
Wednesday, Oct. 14
3:51 p.m. A woman reported that two men threatened her with physical harm. One suspect reported that a friend of the woman made an obscene hand gesture. Police suggested the woman obtain a protection order.
6:45 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with violating bond conditions, open container and alcohol possession at City Park.
Thursday, Oct. 15
2:43 p.m. A woman was given a courtesy ride to her home after police responded to a fight in progress at City Park. Also involved, a teenager was arrested and charged with underage consumption.
7:41 p.m. A woman was arrested for disturbing the peace after she continued to yell and use profanity as an officer responded to a disturbance at the Cortez Library.
11:53 p.m. A motorist was stopped for speeding, 66 in a 35 mph zone, along the 1900 block of East Main Street. A man was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding, reckless driving and open container.
