M-CHS splits matchups with two GJ schools

The Montezuma-Cortez Panthers split home conference games this weekend against two Grand Junction schools.

Friday, the Panthers swept GJ Central (25-20, 25-19, 25-23) for their first Southwestern win.

The Panthers were at home on Saturday against Grand Junction which won, three games to one (15-25, 8-25, 25-21, 13-25).

Dolores continues hot streak, beats Ridgway

The Dolores Bears continued their hot streak on Thursday, winning their fourth consecutive game.

In an away conference match against Dove Creek, the Bears won in three games (26-24, 25-18, 25-6).

On Saturday the streak was snapped by conference-leading Ridgway (17-25, 22-25, 20-25).

Mancos loses to Ignacio, Sierra Grande

The Mancos Blue Jays struggled this weekend, dropping games to Ignacio and Sierra Grande.

In their conference matchup against Ignacio on Thursday, the Blue Jays were swept in three games (6-25, 12-25, 19-25).

Against non-conference Sierra Grande on Saturday, Mancos won games one and four to head into the deciding game, but fell just short (25-16, 19-25, 10-25, 25-23, 13-15).

Dove Creek swept by three opponents

The Dove Creek Bulldogs were swept in all three games played since Thursday.

First against Dolores on Thursday (26-24, 25-18, 25-6), then in consecutive conference games, against Norwood on Friday (16-25, 13-25, 22-25) and Nucla on Saturday (18-25, 19-25, 10-25).
