Monday, Aug. 29

3 p.m. Cruzan Construction officials reported that $5,660 in cash was stolen from five employee paycheck envelopes. Fingerprints were collected. Two stereos, chainsaw, elk mount, generator, saw, drill, spices and multiple hand tools were reported missing. Damages were estimated at $4,900.

Saturday, Sept. 12

11:36 a.m. A Rock Spring Church official reported a damaged pipe.

Monday, Sept. 14

10:52 a.m. A man reported that two homes were burglarized on the 8000 block of County Road 24.

5:38 p.m. A woman reported a trespass on the 30000 block of U.S. 160. A male suspect was reportedly seen driving around on the property.

Tuesday, Sept. 29

7:52 a.m. A man reported a stolen chainsaw from a shed on the 20000 block of County Road S. Damages were estimated at $500.

Thursday, Oct. 1

3 p.m. A woman reported a stolen chainsaw from a shed on the 13000 block of U.S. 491. Damages were estimated at $325.

Monday, Oct. 5

9:47 a.m. A man reported a stolen utility trailer from a residence on the 34000 block of Hwy. 184. The trailer was reportedly full of cabinet tools.

7 p.m. A man reported multiple stolen tools from an equipment trailer on the 7000 block of County Road 38. A pad lock was reportedly cut. Damages were estimated between $1,200 and $1,500.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

10:15 a.m. After presenting a man on the 26000 block of County Road H with a copy of the county ordinance about pet control, an Australian Shepherd bit a deputy on the leg. No charges were filed.

Thursday, Oct. 8

10 a.m. Willet Works, an auto repair shop on Third Avenue in Dolores, was issued a verbal warning for neither having a business license, state sales tax license nor daily records despite being in business for three years. The owner was instructed not to conduct any further business until in compliance. The incident surfaced after a customer reported that he paid $4,300 for engine repairs some eight months ago, but the vehicle had yet to be returned.

Thursday, Oct. 15

12:54 p.m. Deputies responded to a suspicious person asleep inside a residence on the 32000 block of U.S. 160. The suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

9:55 p.m. A man was ticketed for knowingly permitted livestock on a public highway after complaints were received about a painted house near the intersection of U.S. 491 and County Road L.

10:33 p.m. Deputies responded to suspicious people near property on the 24000 block of County Road G. A man, reportedly looking for lost keys, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Friday, Oct. 16

12:01 a.m. A motorist was stopped for a broken head light on the 100 block of U.S. 160. The driver was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and issued a verbal warning for the headlight.

4 p.m. A man reported that his German Shepard was shot outside of his residence on the 27000 block of County Road M.7. The animal survived.

8:15 p.m. Deputies responded to a boarding operation on the 22000 block of County Road U.1 for a shot horse. Wildlife officials responded to the scene, and no entry wound was found. Despite claims that a mountain lion had been seen, no evidence suggested the horse was attacked. Upon further investigation, it was revealed the horse cut its neck on a stable door.

8:56 a.m. A woman reported a damaged mailbox on the 25000 block of County Road M. Damages were estimated at $25.

Saturday, Oct. 17

5:24 p.m. A man reported a slashed tire on the 11000 block of Hwy. 145. The man said he recently purchased a “laser communicator” after 10 black people tried to poison him, and his neighbors used the laser communicator to tell him that “domestic terrorist” were responsible for puncturing his tire. Authorities photographed the laser communicator. The tire wasn’t punctured.

7:49 p.m. A motorist reported a purple van forced his vehicle off the road and onto a sidewalk near the 9000 block of County Road 27. A woman was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

Sunday, Oct. 18

9:52 a.m. Deputies responded to a residence on the 23000 block of County Road G for a disturbance. A verbal and physical confrontation allegedly occurred after a man admitted that he had been unfaithful. Both the woman and man involved in the incident were arrested and charged with criminal mischief, harassment and domestic violence. Authorities noted that broken glass was found throughout the two-story residence.

3:04 p.m. A fight was reported between two inmates at the Montezuma County jail. Surveillance footage revealed that a man was repeatedly punched and kneed in the face. The alleged attacker was charged with assault.

Monday, Oct. 19

10:51 a.m. A woman reported that her purse, $80 and four debit cards were stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked at the Dolores Grocery.

12:23 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at a residence on the 24000 block of County Road F.

5:09 p.m. A motorist was stopped for a broken taillight near the 21000 block of U.S. 491. The driver was arrested and charged with no insurance, defective taillight, expired tags and served an outstanding warrant.

5:40 p.m. A lost purse was returned to a woman.

6:30 p.m. A man reported a vandalized vehicle on the 29000 block of County Road P.5. Three rocks were apparently thrown threw the windshield and a panel window. Damages were estimated at $195.

8:33 p.m. A motorist was stopped for an obstructed license plate near the 100 block of U.S. 160. The driver was ticketed for lack of insurance and given a verbal warning about the tag.

Tuesday, Oct. 20

9:21 p.m. A motorist was stopped for no license plate on the 33000 block of U.S. 160. The driver was ticketed for no insurance and defective license plate lamp.

Wednesday, Oct. 21

9:52 p.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance in progress at a residence on the 300 block of North 15th Street in Dolores. A woman reported that a verbal argument ensued after her boyfriend looked at her text messages and threw a phone valued at $100 against the wall. A man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and domestic violence.
