Before the first snow flies, on behalf of vendors of the Cortez Farmers Market, I would like to take this opportunity to thank: our customers and community for your enthusiastic presence and support every week; Connie Baber for keeping our Web site updated and being one of the amazing volunteers who helps us every year; Lee Hill for all the work she does on our finances; Cheryl Young at the Extension Office for every single thing she does for us-there are just too many to mention; Montezuma County for allowing us the use of the parking lot; Mark Drudge and the Cortez Retail Enhancement Association for the grant which allowed us to advertise throughout the season; Jedekiah Coy from Four Corners TV Network for all the hours of video-taping that resulted in an awesome promo for our Market; the City of Cortez for the grant which helped us supply entertainment and for the wonderful Farmers Market banners at Main and Elm; all the musicians who kept us entertained and dancing in the aisles; Laura McHenry and the Cortez Library for entertaining the children with Storytime every week; Bow & Arrow Brand LLC, Mike Coffey, and the Cortez Mill for allowing us to sell their products and increase awareness of their awesome products; Wendy Watkins of the Journal for her wonderful column and recipes; and the Friends of the Market Jodie Sutton (I could not do it without you Jodie!), and Lew Matis, Pat Norton, Carol Dunsworth, and Ann Smith for helping out on numerous occasions to set up the Market, keep everything flowing smoothly, and then break down the Market. I really can’t imagine the Market without any one of you and I will miss you over the winter.

It was a great year with a lot going on. Besides all of our wonderful weekly local customers, we had visitors from as far away as New Zealand!

I personally want to thank every one of our vendors whose hard work, dedication, creativity and generous spirit supplies us with the best produce and products in the area, as well as their continued contribution to the economy and well-being of all of us in Montezuma and Dolores Counties.

Thank you one and all! Enjoy the winter!

I’m already looking forward to June 4, 2016!

Theresa Titone, Manager
