Country music legend Crystal Gayle is coming to Towaoc for Mothers Day.
Its one of those shows that theres something for everyone, said Darrell Beatty, road manager and assistant for Gayle.
Beatty said Gayles performance will cover a wide range of songs from a plethora of genres and other artists all of Gayles favorites.
I think the reason why shes so popular shes kind of made a career out of doing exactly what she wants to do. ... I think that keeps her relevant with all audiences, Beatty said.
Gayle is one of the few country musicians to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Beatty said, The star is located near her sisters.
Thats a big accomplishment. Were really proud of that, he said.
Gayle will perform at 8 p.m. May 8 at the Ute Mountain Casino.
The younger sister of musician Loretta Lynn, Gayles first single, Ive Cried The Blue Right Out Of My Eyes, was written by her sibling.
According to her website, the platinum selling artist was the Country Music Associations female vocalist of the year for two consecutive years, was awarded a Grammy for best female vocal performance, earned three statuettes from the Academy of Country Music and was the recipient of three American Music Awards.
In 1999, Gayles Dont It Make My Brown Eyes Blue was recognized by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers as one of the top 10 most performed songs of the century.
Gayle also made a number of TV appearances, including The Country Place, her own prime time special on CBS, an HBO concert series and guest appearances on the soap opera Another World, a show for which she recorded the theme song.
