Monday, Nov. 4

9:27 a.m. A woman was ticketed for dogs running at large at the Oak Meadow’s Trailer Park.

12:03 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway after police responded to two intoxicated males near East Montezuma Avenue and North Henry Street.

3:03 p.m. Police responded to a disturbance at the Colorado West Trailer Park but left the scene after finding no one was injured. About 45 minutes later, police returned to the scene after receiving reports that shots had been fired. A man was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and domestic violence. Believed to be a .38 caliber revolver, the firearm was never located.

5:11 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police observed him outside of Wendy’s.

5:30 p.m. Police reported a dumpster fire on the 1700 block of South Broadway.

5:52 p.m. Police were unable to locate a suspected pick-pocketer at Cortez Apartments.

Thursday, Nov. 5

12:20 a.m. A man was issued a home confinement order after his dog bit a dinner guest on the hand. A woman was treated at the hospital for two puncture wounds.

8:33 a.m. A man was arrested and charged with trespass after he threatened to steal his mother’s automobile at the Sleeping Ute Hotel.

2:43 p.m. A man was ticketed for shoplifting and issued a trespass notice after police responded to a shoplifter at Wal-Mart. The man reportedly attempted to steal a light bulb.

3:23 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with alcohol possession after police responded to a fight in progress at City Park. The man reportedly had nine 24-ounce beers.

8:28 p.m. A woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants after police went to her residence in the Oak Meadows Trailer Park to talk to her about her son’s behavior.

8:59 p.m. Two men were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop along South Ash Street. Driving without a front license plate, the driver was charged with the traffic offense along with drug possession and paraphernalia. A passenger was charged with the same drug offenses. A half-gram of methamphetamines and a pencil torch were seized.

Friday, Nov. 6

12:20 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police saw him at Underwood Plaza near the Post Office.

12:50 p.m. A teenager was ticketed for underage marijuana possession after police observed several teens gathered in the pocket park on South Market Street. Police seized rolling papers, a grinder and .08 grams of marijuana.

5:17 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with open container and outstanding warrant after police found him lying down on the sidewalk near South Madison and East 4th streets.

Saturday, Nov. 7

12:47 a.m. A shoeless man armed with a rubber mallet and a knife was arrested and charged with trespass after knocking on the door of a residence along the 1100 block of Montelores Avenue. The suspect, who admitted to taking Percocet and drinking beer, told police that he became frightened after someone attempted to shoot him with a crossbow. An investigation revealed the man was hallucinating.

2:16 p.m. Two men were arrested after police received an anonymous tip about drug trafficking at the 7th Street Mobile Home Park. One suspect was charged with obstruction and violating bond conditions after he attempted to flee the scene on foot. A second man was charged on an outstanding warrant after he arrived to drive the first suspects vehicle home. A search warrant was requested for the vehicle, which was towed to the police department.

8:51 p.m. A motorist was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop for driving without a license plate on the 400 block of North Dolores Road.

10:48 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police observed him slamming a backpack onto the hood and windshield of an automobile on the 1300 block of East Main Street. The man was also investigated for assault after kicking an officer in the knee. The officer didn’t seek medical treatment.

Sunday, Nov. 8

12:20 p.m. A security grate valued at $150 and fire pit valued at $100 were reported stolen from Cortez Cleaners.

3 p.m. A woman reported that three antique wagon wheels valued at $75 each were stolen from a residence on the 400 block of North Linden Street.

5:11 p.m. A man reported the theft of a Mercedes valued at $11,000 from the Mesa Verde Inn. An investigation revealed that the automobile belonged to a woman living in Dolores. The man was arrested for violating a protection order.

8:18 p.m. A man was arrested and held for investigation on charges of menacing, possession of a weapon by a prior offender, child abuse and domestic violence after police responded to a disturbance at the Best Western Hotel. The man reportedly pulled a .45 caliber handgun during an argument over dirty dishes.

Monday, Nov. 9

10:35 a.m. The Silver Bean Coffee Shop reported that a bicycle valued at $1,800 was stolen from a storage building. Within hours, the bicycle was recovered from a residence on South Park Street. A man was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

12 p.m. A man reported that his vehicle was scratched on both sides while parked on the 300 block of West 5th Street. Damages were estimated $500.

2:03 p.m. A mail carrier reported that a Chihuahua tried to bite her on the 500 block of West 3rd Street. The dog was subsequently pepper sprayed by police. The owner was ticketed for unlicensed dog and dog running at large.

10:23 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and also charged with abusing toxic vapors after he was found huffing industrial adhesive behind the Giant convenience store on East Main Street.

Tuesday, Nov. 10

1:45 a.m. A man was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after police observed a vehicle with non-functioning license plate lights on East Main Street.

11:32 a.m. A man was arrested and charged with public intoxication after he was found lying in the middle of the road near the Super Splash Car Wash.

7:54 p.m. A man was arrested on two outstanding warrants after police stopped a motorist for driving with non-functioning license plate lights on South Chestnut Street. The man was also charged with criminal impersonation, drug possession, drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Authorities reportedly found .5 grams of methamphetamines.

Wednesday, Nov. 11

3:09 p.m. A rifle was seized and a man arrested on an outstanding warrant after police investigated trash scattered around a vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot. A K-9 unit was called to the scene but no narcotics were found.

3:14 p.m. A man reported property damage on the 20 block of North Pinon Drive. A wall was spray-painted.

3:40 p.m. A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at Rocky Mountain Offenders Management Systems.

9:12 p.m. A woman was arrested on three outstanding warrants at a residence on the 500 block of West 6th Street.

Thursday, Nov. 12

8:06 a.m. A man was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace after an eyewitness observed him urinating on the veteran’s memorial near the Welcome Center.

2:44 p.m. Arrest warrants were requested for two suspects after Rocky Mountain Offender Management Systems officials reported the theft of two ankle monitors.

3:01 p.m. A Best Western employee was arrested for violating a restraining order .

9:27 p.m. A woman was arrested and charged with drug possession, paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license after police observed her driving on the wrong side of the road on South Chestnut Street. Police reportedly found evidence of drug trafficking, a meth pipe, baggies, a scale, a torch, a cut straw and an undisclosed amount of methamphetamines.

Friday, Nov. 13

8:54 a.m. A man reported that his wallet was stolen overnight while staying at the Bridge Emergency Shelter.

Saturday, Nov. 14

12:40 a.m. A man was arrested on three outstanding warrants after police responded to a disturbance at Wal-Mart. Under suspicion of attempting to steal condoms, the man was also issued a trespass notice.

11:43 a.m. A man reported that checks were stolen from his unlocked vehicle at City Market. An identified suspect was being investigated after three checks totaling $425 were forged and cashed.

Sunday, Nov. 15

12:15 a.m. A man was arrested for violating bond conditions after police responded to a disturbance at Sleeping Ute Apartments.

11:14 a.m. A woman on the 600 block of South Ash Street reported her automobile was stolen after loaning it to a neighbor. The vehicle was valued at $4,000.

12:38 p.m. After refusing to leave a woman’s home on the 600 block of South Ash Street, a man was arrested on four outstanding warrants.

5:41 p.m. A man was arrested for violating a protection order and bond conditions after police responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 400 block of South Maple Street.

7:10 p.m. A woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the Econo Lodge after police responded to an anonymous tip.

7:30 p.m. A man was arrested and charged with assault and domestic violence after police responded to a situation at the Sikis Village Trailer Park. A woman reported that she was thrown to the ground and kicked repeatedly.

Monday, Nov. 16

10:18 a.m. School officials reported a break in at the old Montezuma-Cortez High School on West 7th Street. Graffiti was painted inside the lobby and fire extinguishers were sprayed throughout the building. A window on the south side of the building was open.
