The Mancos Marshal’s Office and Town of Mancos reminds residents to keep car doors locked and to remove valuables from vehicles. Theft from automobiles is a crime of opportunity, and the town has had a recent spate of thefts from unlocked vehicles in town. Purses, tools, and other items have been stolen.

Help prevent these crimes by observing the following:

Don’t leave your car running while unattended.

Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle.

Park in well lit areas

Take your keys with you.

Lock your doors and close all windows.

Consider carrying your valuables with you or leaving them at home. If you must leave them in your vehicle, always hide them or place them in the trunk before arriving to your destination.

Report any suspicious activity to the Mancos Marshal’s Office by calling dispatch at 565-8454.
