First National receives A+ rating

First National Bank, 2258 E. Main St., Cortez has received an A+ national financial health rating from DepositAccounts.com, one of the nation’s leading bank health-monitoring publications.

The bank stood out in all of the primary evaluation categories, but its Texas Ratio and Deposit Growth were particularly noteworthy. The A+ rating also places FNB in the highest tier (top 10 percent) of the 13,000 federally insured banks and credit unions nationwide in terms of financial health.

Each fiscal quarter, DepositAccounts.com evaluates the financial health of every federally insured bank in the United States – more than 6,200 total. Each institution is graded on a number of factors, including capitalization, deposit growth, and loan to reserve ratios, in order to determine a comprehensive health rating.
