World-renown saddlemakers and leather artists Lisa and Loren Skyhorse, who have been building hand made saddles together for more than 40 years, will show their artwork of painting and sculpting on leather in February.

The Artisans of Mancos welcome the artists and celebrate Valentines Day on Sunday, Feb. 14 from 1-3 p.m.

Lisa and Loren Skyhorse, who have lived in the area for 20 years, have been featured in Cowboys and Indians and Western Horseman magazine. They have won numerous awards at the Western Design Conference and have work in the permanent collection of the Booth Western Art Museum, a subsidiary of the Smithsonian.

Chris Hutton introduces his newest oil paintings. His painting style draws the viewer in with loose brush strokes, color harmony and sense of place.

Hutton enjoys plein air painting and feels it embellishes his studio work.

Hutton was raised in eastern Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University. He and his wife, Laurie, relocated to Mancos last summer.

Artisans of Mancos Gallery is an co-op that showcases 18 regional artists. An artist is always on site, and the gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday 9-1 (winter) at 101 W. Grand Ave. For a complete artist listing, visit www.artisansofmancos.com.
