Mercy spine surgeon named among 315 Spine Surgeons to Know

Jim Youssef, M.D., a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who helped develop and currently participates in Mercy Regional Medical Center’s Spine Center of Excellence in Durango, was recently named as one of the nation’s 315 Spine Surgeons to Know - 2016 by the website Becker’s Spine Review.

The website’s citation said of Youssef: “He has participated in multiple investigational device exemption/FDA clinical trials and has published his research in more than 25 peer-reviewed publications. He is co-founder of the Evidence & Technology Spine Summit, a continuing medical education conference for spine surgeons. He has a professional interest in minimally invasive procedures, fracture care and complex spinal disorders. His additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.”

Youssef has been a member of the medical staff and practiced spine surgery at Mercy Regional since 1997.
