BOOTSIE is a sweet, gentle little girl. A 10-week-old black Labrador retriever mix, she was left in a box outside the shelter during the night along with her three male littermates, who are also available for adoption. She is a calm and amiable puppy, and is very outgoing, along with her boisterous brothers. They have been at the shelter for over three weeks now, and have already had two sets of shots. Come and meet Bootsie and consider offering this sweetie a home with your family. She is available for adoption at the Cortez Animal Shelter, located at 2791 E. Main St. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and open every other Friday. The shelter will be closed this Friday for intensive cleaning, but will be open this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a spring Adopt-a-thon where there will be cats and dogs available for adoption. This week, the shelter needs non-clumping cat litter, Iams kitten food, dish soap, paper towels, and dog treats to occupy our dogs time. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
