The Dove Creek Lady Bulldogs’ 2015-2016 season came to an end on Thursday at the hands of the Plateau Valley Cowboys (10-10).

The Cowboys entered the Class 1A District 1 tournament as the top seed, and they made quick work of the Lady Bulldogs, winning 40-15 in the opening round.

The Lady Bulldogs had a rocky season, but they did pick up a win 28-25 win against Telluride on Feb. 19 to break the goose egg and tally a score in the win column, finishing the season 1-19.

After dealing with injuries to Spencer and Scott Gatlin this season, the Bulldogs compiled a 10-9 record heading into postseason play.

They got a big 63-35 win over North Park in the district tournament opener on Thursday to advance to the semifinals.

However, on Friday they were met by the eventual district champion Ouray Trojans (19-2), who ended the Bulldogs’ season with a 58-45 loss.
