Little Loves Boutique is bringing a local option for Cortez shoppers seeking maternity clothes and other items for babies and small children.
Kayla Maynard has opened the shop at 40 E. Main St., offering items for newborns through preschool-age children.
She said she got tired of driving to other cities to shop for those things when she was expecting her kids.
“There was no local place for that, so I wanted to give something to the community,” Maynard said.
Little Loves is offering handmade gift items such as bottles, bibs, cloths, head bows and books. Local artists and crafters are making the items, Maynard said.
She’s also selling specialty boutique items from Connected By A Thread and crochet hooks from Off The Hook, Maynard said.
The store fills a niche that previously was empty in Cortez, Maynard said.
“I saw a need, and I wanted to meet it,” she said.
