Cortez Farmers Market promises 39 booths this season

The Cortez Farmers Market kicks off Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 a.m. and runs through October.

Theresa Titone, vendors and market manager, expects 39 booths as the market season gets in full swing.

Vendors who plan to return to the market include Barbara Lynch, Cheryl Floyd, Lee Hill and Velma Hollen, Bessie White, Ruth Wilson, Song Haven Farm, Summit Roots, Battle Rock Farm, Lew Matis, Rex Tozer, and Don and Liz Tozer, Barb Anderson, and Dave Lepkojus, Fury’s Funny Farm, Kim Lindgren, Lick Skillet Farm, Sunny Bossenmaier and Rin Black, the Cortez Middle School’s School to Farm Project and Dirt Rich Farm.

Mitchell and Joyce Periman plan to offer their Fahrenheit coffee, along with crepes, and produce. The Pie Maker plans to offer baked goods, sandwiches, handpies and Nitro coffee. Mammy’s Jam and The Bee Tree will provide some sweets.

Meat vendors include Berto Farms, Pitts Family Ranch and W Lazy D Bison Co.

Returning artisans and crafters include Southwest Gourd Art, Valerina Sampson, The Dirt Mamas and Bill Griffin. Abby Gulick, of Love Sprouts Massage, will be there to help provide relief.

The market features music from 8:30–11:30 a.m., beginning with Jenny Winegarderer and including other local favorites such as the Moetones and Marilyn Kroeker. The Cortez Public Library’s Storytime for children begins at 9:30 a.m. each Saturday.

The Cortez Farmers Market is located in the County Courthouse parking lot, at Main and Elm streets. Pets aren’t allowed. Bicyclists are encouraged to use the racks outside the boot area.
