U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton of Cortez invites all high school students of Colorado’s Third Congressional District to participate in the 2016 Congressional App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge engages students from across the nation in designing an app for a mobile, tablet, or computer device and entering into a national competition. This is the second year that the contest has been held.
One goal of the competition is to promote STEM education in schools. Any student who has coding experience is encouraged to participate in the challenge, regardless of their experience. Computer coding has proven to be essential for keeping pace with advancing technologies.
Community leaders from the 3rd Congressional District will judge the submissions, and the winners of the contest will be recognized by Tipton. Students must register for the challenge and submit their apps by Nov. 2, 2016.
Groups and individuals who have questions about the Congressional App Challenge or are interested in sponsoring the challenge should contact Tipton’s Washington office at 202-225-4761.
