The Colorado Department of Transportation advises motorists to remain alert while driving along Colorado Highway 145 just west of Telluride because of mudslides. The highway is open but motorists will encounter periodic delays while crews continue to remove mud and debris from the roads, ditches, and culverts.

CDOT has a 10-man maintenance crew with six pieces of heavy equipment working Colorado 145 between Telluride and Saw Pit. Motorists can expect intermittent delays while work is being done from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday for the next two weeks.

CDOT maintenance foreman Tyler Carlson said, “This last incident was not quite as significant because the work that has been done in the area has really helped us prepare for additional rains,” said CDOT maintenance foreman Tyler Carlson. “The culverts, which had been previously cleared out by crews, are working well and water is able to more efficiently run through them and under the road.”
