The Colorado Hospital Association’s policy analyst, Joshua Ewing, presents information on upcoming ballot initiative Amendment 69, at 6 p.m., Tuesday, on Oct. 4 at the Cortez Elks Lodge.
Southwest Health System is hosting the legislative policy team from the Colorado Hospital Association to present facts on this issue from a health care and economic perspective to the public.
Amendment 69 will appear on the Colorado ballot in November and if passed, would establish a “universal health care system” called ColoradoCare. This amendment would create a state-owned cooperative in which all Colorado residents over the age of 18 would be automatically enrolled as members. ColoradoCare would be a taxpayer-financed system of universal health coverage for all Colorado residents.
The Colorado Hospital Association formally opposes Amendment 69 but seeks to inform Colorado voters of facts surrounding the proposed change in the state’s health care system.
