Dear Editor:
A letter, written by Nathaniel Seeley, in which he praised the staff of Southwest Memorial Hospital, appeared in the Journal on May 14. Like Mr. Seeley, I, too, was a patient there recently and agree iwth his assessment of the hospital personnel.
From the moment I entered the ambulance, and then the ER, until my discharge eight days later, I received efficient, courteous, compassionate and expert care from everyone concerned with my case; the surgeon who performed emergency surgery and the doctors who followed up. Every nurse and nurses aide who tended to my care was quick to respond to calls and did what was required cheerfully and efficiently.
Southwest Memorial has a staff to be proud of, and I will never hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing their services. Eleven years ago, I had surgery in a large city hospital in the East, which, in contrast, was a very unpleasant experience. I think its important for the residents of Montezuma and Dolores County to know what an excellent facility we have right here in the high desert.
