Purgatory Resort celebrated its last day of daily operations with a pond skim delivered by Red Bull. Hundreds of fans gathered to cheer for crashes, costumes, tricks and the finalists who impressed with skill and style all day.

It wouldn’t be an end-of-season pond skim without a kayak taking to the course at Purgatory Resort. But these inflatable kayak pilots needed plenty of crowd assistance to find the pool at the end of their run. Next stop, the Animas River this spring.

Purgatory Resort delivered some late-season waves with the end-of-season pond skim event. The resort will still be open until the end of April on weekends only.

Not all who braved the freezing water at the Purgatory Resort pond skim stayed upright. In fact, only a handful of balancing artists successfully navigated the pool.
