A voice for water

Dear Editor:

With natural gas drilling, fracking, oil drilling, uranium mining, potash mining, Nestle, Monsanto, ExxonMobile, Bechtal, Halliburton, all of these, and an infinite number more, want, and take our water to do their “business” and make their profits.

Water continues to be made unhealthy, contaminating our air, top soils, and underground, making its way into our rivers, lakes, aquifers and our taps. There is no honest or perfected technology to prevent, capture, or divert, the course of chemicals and oil, so as not to contaminate our fresh water supplies, air, soil, oceans, food and ourselves. It’s that simple, that complex and that real.It is all experiential, with profit always, and before all else, being the goal, when creating, and meeting, the demands.

Capitalism can be beneficial, until its allowed to expand into blind greed, and no one, to take from a popular phrase, wants to notice the”elephant” in the room anymore.Drive through Rifle sometime and see firsthand where the land has died. The “elephant” still stands there, and in the Gulf off Louisiana too!Are there ways to speak of such things in a positive way?Yes, but few are interested, because it takes cultivating the will to change how we think and Live.

When contaminated, what chance does water have to continue to support Life, without disease, at any age?Do we even remember the gifts of water? The Beauty in the creation of health, fragrances, colors, textures, tastes and sounds of real Life, because of water?I’m told these subjects of my voice fall on numbed hearts. I don’t use politics enough.I am too emotional. But emotions are made up of water.Ask any female. We are emotional creatures. We know firsthand about water. We grow our babies in it.
